From a fire in the east to a rainstorm in the west … from the spinning of a daffodil to the whirling of a cyclone… from the tilting of the night sky into an ocean of greens and blues… there is an unfoldment to all things… a rising of the inner light to all things. With our lives being measured in the hours and the days… and our thoughts too often as distant as the stars themselves… there is a center point of balance we are ever trying to achieve. These five pieces for orchestra are meant to portray that unfoldment within…. that balance point. Slow… deliberate… delicate… fragile… yet unyielding. There is a strength in the quiet of every darkness… and a power beyond measure in every human heart. We need only let go to feel the rising of the light… we need only let go to feel the openness of love… there… just waiting to unfold… the dream… the hope… the coming of the day. Breath in…. breath out… let go. These five pieces for orchestra are meant to portray the unfoldment within and the dawning of that new day. Let this music take you where she will. This is a sacred work. This is the soft music of becoming.
Five Stereographs for Orchestra was composed and arranged by Russell Giffen. Produced, engineered and recorded in the Autorium at St.Sann’s / Cinterscore Studios NY.
Special thanks to Spitfire Audio UK, Abbey Road Studios London, The London Contemporary Orchestra, EastWest US, Westwood Instruments UK and the Eric Whitacre Choir without whom this recording wouldn't have been possible.
To my dear Aunt Katie - singer with Vaughn Monroe’s Orchestra back in the day - who toured across the US on the bus with her sister singers just like the rest of the boys in shows from coast to coast (including concerts at NYC’s Palladium during the golden age of the Big Bands). She was as spirited as she was courageous. These five orchestral pieces are for you Kate… wherever you’re singing tonight in the great beyond (along with a clutch of roses for your dressing room). Somewhere… someday… we’ll meet again.
Glowing melodic synth sequences meet jagged noise and other industrial textures on this new LP by soundtrack composer René G. Boscio. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 13, 2020
As you might guess from the title, this is strange and eerie synth music meant to conjure a mystical film where all is not what it seems. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 14, 2023
