CM New Release: The Vampyre (The Complete Revised Score)

Love… Innocence lost…Betrayal. These three companions have been within the human heart since the beginnings of time… so too the telling of stories. This work is based upon a tale written by John William Polidori on a rainy weekend in 1816 (published 1819) at the Villa Diodati near Lake Geneva. A weekend that also spawned the legendary story of Frankenstein from Ms. Mary Shelley. This original score was composed and released in 2019 and I chose to revise it to mark the turning of the seasons, Autumn in particular, for 2021. I wrote new material and abandoned several sections from the original work and sought to bring the colors of the orchestra up in more vivid detail. As presented here in a single continuous performance, it is my sincerest hope that I did justice to Dr. Polidori’s tale and that I lent a bit more drama to the telling of this story in music. As always, I hope you find something in it to call your own.
