Oft quoted from ‘Hamlet’ is the saying “Brevity is the soul of wit…” and I would also posit… the very soul of life herself. As every mountain defines a valley so every moment lies different side by side to it’s adjacent cousins. If things were infinite and endless, the holding of things precious would cease to be. Brevity gives us meaning... and with her lover fragility… the possibility of beauty herself. As soft and tender as two making love on a late and rainy afternoon… so is the fleetingness of time. As every valley defines a mountain… every moment holds the promise of something precious… something that lives on if only in memory. This is our shared experience… this… our fragile beauty.
Here… a meditation for piano and violin… as two players side by side give themselves to each other… and to music herself. The sustain pedal as audible as is the sound of rosin on the bow. The closeness of a precious moment… these players together… but for a time. This piece is therefore a meditation on brevity… and her lover… fragility.

As you might guess from the title, this is strange and eerie synth music meant to conjure a mystical film where all is not what it seems. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 14, 2023
